Are you working on your harmonic balancer? Sir Tools has designed an innovative and award winning set of tools that can help you get the job done right the first time.
The HO 50 Counter Holder kit allows you to break loose the crank shaft bolt on most HOnda and Accura cars with a 50 mm hex pattern slot in the harmonic balancer. This kit does about 90 percent of the HOndas and Acuras - in Honda it does everything but the Civics. And it does all acuras. The HO 60 Counter Holder Kit is for the Civics, which have a radial faced harmonic patterned harmonic balancer. Sir Tools won an innovation award for the design of this tool, which is the first factory correct complete kit.
The HO 70 Counter Holder Kit from Sir Tools is the master kit and includes both heads in one kit, which is a must for any professional Honda and Acura technician. There is no other way to do timing belts, because the harmonic balancer has to be removed in order to gain access to the timing belt. You can't gain access with an impact gun because its a horizontally opposed motor.
Honda and Acura cars run more efficiently and will stay out of the shop longer if you replace the timing belt every 70,000 miles, because the cam shaft and oil seals usually begin to leak around 110,000 miles. If you are a professional Honda/Acura technician or just a guy trying to fix the Honda or Acura out in the garage, you should consider getting the right tools for the job.
While you're in there, the 2705 Universal Cam Sprocket Counter Holder allows you to break loose the cam bolt by way of counter holding the cam sprockets at the spokes of the wheel. These are good preventative maintenance steps that need to be taken on the cam shaft oil seals and the balance shaft. As long as you are doing the timing belts, you might as well replace the cam shaft and balance shaft seal using tool #HO 110. The HO 110 is guaranteed not to curl, tear or damage the new oil seals in any way shape or form, insuring a proper seated position in the engine case every time.
